Flag battle icon Flag Battles are one of the 4 online modes in Naruto to Boruto: Shinobi Striker.

Duration: 5 minutes.

The objective of Flag Battles is to obtain the enemy's flag twice within 5 minutes, while protecting your team's flag. In order to do this, players have to go to the appointed spot on the map where the flag is - usually on opposite ends of the map - and stand on the base until the flag has been captured; this can be done quicker by defeating the opposing players - defeating one automatically knocks off a quarter of the time it takes to get the flag. To completely deplete the time taken to get the flag, 4 enemies must be defeated.

When a flag is captured, the player carrying it has their speed and jump height halved (does not affect the speed nor travel distance of Ninjutsu - like Lightning Blade and it's variants, Fire Style: Hiding in Ash Jutsu, Spiked Human Boulder, etc.), making them easy targets for the opposing team. It takes the equivalent of 5 light hits to make the flagbearer drop the flag, which can then be re-obtained by walking into it; if an ally does this, they grab the flag but if an enemy does this, the flag goes back to their base. If the carrier uses a jutsu that gives superarmor, they won't drop the flag even if hit with Ninjutsu.

The match will go into overtime if a player is carrying a flag and both teams has the same amount of flags (2 flags left each on either team or 1 each). If 1 team has 1 flag more than the other, they will win the match even if the other team is currently carrying their flag)- the match ends if either the flag reaches the appropriate base, or the flag is re-captured by the appropriate team. During overtime all players get a speed boost until their first death.

In-Battle Scrolls with power ups (but no Special Scrolls) for the whole team will appear in different points of the map.

Bugs[]

Sometimes, even if your team has defeated 4 enemies, you have to wait the full time to capture the enemy's flag as if none of them was killed.

Problematic mechanics[]

When the carrier loses the flag, it will teleport to a random location nearby and not always stays in the player's sight. Since it is random, the captured flag may teleport near to enemy's base even if the carrier didn't reach that far (thus an unmerited advantage).
