Usage Tips[]
The Giant Scythe's biggest difference to the Long Sword is the grounded heavy attack. It replaces a generally disruptive move with one that has an additional swing and more vertical reach at the cost of horizontal reach , which makes the Scythe's heavy attack the generally less effective one when surrounded by opponents. On the flip side, punishing Super Armor with it deals an additional hit of damage and challenging other hit boxes results in slightly less hits taken due to the more consistent hit box in front of the wielder. These factors combined with the slightly higher Speed rating of 3 paints the picture of a weapon more suited for dueling single opponents rather than disrupting as many opponents as possible. Even though the differences to the Longsword are rather minor and technical, the Giant Scythe will most likely appeal to the player that is looking at their weapon slot for their primary source of damage rather than a tool to exert crowd control with.
